Online counselling can give you the flexibility to access therapy your way.
60-minute session
Via WhatsApp, Teams or telephone. It’s also possible to switch between video & audio session – whatever feels right for you.
Your environment
The most important thing is for you to be in a space where you feel safe, can talk freely, & as much as possible, will not be disturbed.
You can access your counselling session in all kinds of places, from the home office, living room, shed, car, or park. Whatever works for you.
I’ve found the most impactful way is to have your hands free – so you’re free to gesture and move around. If you’re using a phone or a tablet, having somewhere to prop it up could be helpful. The most important factor is to have a stable connection.
Fee: £45 / 10% discount for advanced payments of 6 or more sessions.
Discretionary rate available upon request.
90-minute session
What do you need from your 90 minute session?
Often this is a session to pause, process, consider your needs and figure things out. You can bring anything to this ad-hoc session. It can be a good alternative to traditional counselling to help maintain your wellbeing, although it could lead to a recommendation for a longer-term work.
You may want to consider this option if:
- You’re feeling conflicted or stuck about something specific, & you want to talk things through in a confidential, non-biased and non-judgemental setting on a one of basis.
- You’re regularly exposed to distressing events in your work.
- You’ve had counselling before and want to have occasional sessions to maintain your wellbeing.
- The work could be anything from working through something specific, to occasionally processing your experiences, or just having the time to externalise your thoughts, feelings, and emotions in a safe space.
Fee: £60 / discretionary rate available upon request
Rewind Therapy as an addition to a counselling session.
Rewind therapy is an approach used to help individuals cope with and overcome post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or traumatic memories. The technique aims to reduce the emotional intensity and distress associated with traumatic experiences.
In the Rewind Technique, clients are guided through a process that involves visualizing and mentally reprocessing traumatic memories in a safe and controlled manner. The steps often include relaxation exercises to reach a deep state of relaxation, creating a mental safe space, and then using guided imagery to revisit the traumatic memory in a way that allows the individual to process and reframe the experience.
A key element of the Rewind Technique is dissociation, where the individual imagines observing the traumatic event from a safe distance, and then “rewinding” or revisiting the memory in a way that reduces its emotional impact. The goal is to help the individual disconnect the intense emotions associated with the traumatic memory and replace them with a more neutral or less distressing response.
