The window of tolerance is like a comfortable zone in which we can handle stress and challenges without feeling overwhelmed or shutting down. It’s the range of emotions and feelings we can cope with and still function effectively. When we are within our window of tolerance, we can think clearly, make good decisions, and manage our emotions. But if we become too stressed or anxious, we can move out of this zone and experience extreme emotions like panic or anger. On the other hand, if we become too disconnected or depressed, we may feel like we’ve shut down and can’t handle anything at all. So staying within our window of tolerance is important for our mental and emotional well-being.
